I CAN HELP.

13 years ago I was a teenager with zero professional experience. My parents had just wrapped up their divorce, half of my extended family was pretending I didn’t exist, and I had just moved to a totally new place to try and start a creative life. I was working two part-time minimum-wage jobs in retail and I felt this incredible freedom at finally having a couple hundred dollars I could call my own, and this incredible weight of doing work I where I felt entirely uninspired. I was grateful, and I needed a change.

That Christmas my entire life changed. My mom got me a Canon T3i for Christmas, and I immediately knew I had found the way forward.
It was as if I had suddenly opened the door to a whole new world, and I was immediately struck by both it’s beauty and just how expensive it was.

I wanted desperately to be involved, but as I was hearing about $30,000 cameras and $250,000 budgets my mind was spinning - I could barely afford the $250 for a cheap prime lens, and the clients around me seemed wary of spending any more than $200 on projects. How would I ever reach the promised land?

I spent the next 13 years of my life committed to learning how in the world I could do this sustainably - unearthing the black box that is commercial production and sharing what I learned with those who cared to listen. I learned the hard way that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink, and that for those willing to learn it’s a lot less scary than it seems in our heads.

As I waded from no-budget church videos into multi six figure campaigns for brands like Apple and Bose I was drinking from a firehouse as I learned about storytelling, lighting, the technical side of equipment and the financial side of the business. I spent years devouring business books and spent tens of thousands of dollars taking workshops with one goal in mind: creating a system that would maximize client impact, creative freedom, and the bandwidth to live our lives according to our values.

After 13 years, I’m finally sharing those insights with the world.

Who this workshop is for:
Creatives looking to maximize creative freedom while reducing financial stress.
Hobbyist photographers and videographers looking to start making investments while minimizing risk.
Professionals looking to step from prosumer gear into bigger investments.
Professionals who feel like gear is more of a headache than a resource.
People looking to experience excellent equipment without losing money (I’ve made money on all my Leicas).
Anyone looking to generate more leverage and freedom by being intentional in their business.

In this workshop I am going to be sharing the most impactful lessons I’ve learned about equipment - what to buy, what to rent, how to take advantage of depreciation, cost of ownership vs sticker price, when and why to buy a $10k tripod, gear strategy for companies vs freelancers, setting pricing, negotiating, and so much more.
During the workshop we’re going to spend 80 minutes digging into these highly actionable principles and then have 40 minutes of QnA to talk about what’s going on in your specific world and how you can apply the tools to create more freedom for yourself, your team, and your family.

This is all taking place Saturday April 19th from 4-6pm eastern, and will include worksheets for your numbers and the call recording.
If you’re ready to take the next step: let’s get better together.
